Meet the Artist
Hi, I'm Richell Chiu-Yap, the principal designer here at Living Mosaic Design Studio. I have an Associates Degree in Landscape Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design-Summa cum Laude. I am grateful to have years of rewarding experience in design & project management through my work at architecture & interior design firms in Singapore. I am originally from the beautiful tropical island city of Cebu in the Philippines. My overseas life experiences have brought modern and down-to-earth sensibilities to my design aesthetics, which I combine with local styles to create unique & functional spaces.
I keep myself abreast with the new trends in landscape design by being a member of the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon (HPSO) and the Association of Northwest Landscape Designers. I love visiting the many wonderful public and private gardens in the Northwest and across the United States.
As an artist, my works include peg dolls, portraits, landscapes, botanical and events photography, fine art illustration as well as ceramics and garden art. During my free time, I like trying out new cooking recipes, hiking and traveling with my husband, Douglas, twin daughters, Diane and Elaine.
